Anatomy of an AI Assistant

I built the foundational AI assistant workflow, UX, UI, Interaction, Voice, Convresational, and Visual Design for Prana. This has been aiding in their fundraising efforts.

01. CONTEXT

Prana is an advanced AI-powered health assistant that leverages GenAI to deliver personalized health insights and solutions. Designed to support users with diverse wellness goals, Prana combines complex data modeling with empathetic conversational AI to transform raw metrics into actionable, meaningful, and human-centered guidance.

TRACK BIOMARKERS AND NUTRIENTS

Monitor vital health metrics like vitamins, minerals, and biomarkers in real-time. Done by integrating wearables data and by manual inputs.

FIND COMMUNITIES

Fosters connection by helping users discover and join health-focused communities. By using influencers to build a following, sell products, use protocols, etc.

AI ASSISTANT

Serves as the user’s personal health guide, delivering personalized recommendations and contextual insights. How? Let us find out.

With limited resources, I did 10 competitor analysis and 4 co-design sessions to identify user needs and validate concepts. Since it was a business-driven initiative, I collaborated with stakeholders to align design decisions with strategic goals for fundraising.

03. GENAI EXPERIENCE

Design Goals

Ensure the GenAI assistant provides empathetic, context-aware guidance tailored to individual health journeys, making complex health data approachable and actionable for users.

Deliver a scalable GenAI assistant that increases user retention by offering personalized, actionable insights, aligning with strategic objectives to enhance long-term user engagement and app profitability.

Establish a comprehensive design system and guidelines for the GenAI feature, including conversational tone, interaction patterns, and scalable components, to ensure consistency and adaptability across the platform.

After mapping out all the screens required, I defined the UI UX guidelines to build and scale the feature.

03. DESIGNING THE TOUCHPOINTS

I built a comprehesive app flow to understand the distinct scenarios and how the AI assistant would manifest in each of them. Below are the scenariors with the most time reduction due to AI

Quick action in homepage where you can ask Oracle any question and get a notification message of the reply.

While you are building a protocol, which is a fitness and diet regime based on your data, you can customize it through conversational and real-time editing.

Become an influencer by asking Oracle to customize your post, caption, and tags.

04. WRAPPING UP

Usability testing + Future

I conducted 3 usabiltiy studies to test and valdiate the concept for the 3 key scenarios. I am currently in the process of building out the other scenarios and conducting validation study around it.
